My Momento Live
I bought the i-Mate Momento Live photo frame in a sale… little did I know it was a “closing down” sale. i-Mate had called time on a product which they saw as a drain on their resources as they’d failed to monetize it. They stopped maintaining the MomentoLive website and eventually people’s frames stopped receiving updates (even quicker if they weren’t configured with feeds). I resolved to resurrect my frame by trying to work out what it was doing and let it live again.
I have managed to work out the protocol to talk to the frame by using an https proxy. I released an early version of code, which some people have had success with, but with the frame still requiring DNS changes, this was not going to be an easy-to-package solution for anyone.
It sat on the back burner for a while, and I concentrated on some other things in my life but now I’m looking at it again and I look forward to uncovering a few more of its secrets.
Can I deliver photos to this frame direct from iPhoto?
Can I send new tweets from my twitter timeline?
Suddenly the possibilities seem renewed and with them, my enthusiasm.
